Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Training and Development, Field Operations Academy located in Glynco, GA.
As a Second Line Supervisory CBP Agriculture Specialist, you will become a key member of a team of Homeland Security professionals responsible for detecting and preventing prohibited agricultural commodities, and animal by-products from entering the U.S. This position starts at a salary of $125,776.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $163,514.00 (GS-14, Step 10).
Typical work assignments include: Oversight of the planning and development of training curriculum and course materials; instructing on a variety of subjects; and facilitating all aspects of training delivery for basic, advanced, and/or continuing education training to include workshops and seminars. Instructing, supervising and evaluating students enrolled in basic, advanced and/or specialized resident and non-resident training programs.
Providing technical advice and guidance, resolving complex curriculum related problems while investigating new concepts and innovations applicable to specific training. Overseeing, coordinating, and evaluating overall educational program activities and implementation of basic department-wide guidelines. Performing long-range planning and management of new substantive training programs.
Temporary/Rotational assignment: This rotational assignment will be filled on a temporary basis not-to-exceed (NTE) 3 years, with possible extensions for an additional 2 years in one-year increments. You may be returned to meet the needs of the agency at any time, to the position from which you are temporarily promoted or to a different position of equivalent grade and pay, and that the return is not subject to the procedures found in 5 C.F.R. §§ 351, 432, 752, and 771.
