This position is located in the Lab/Radiology Department, at the Fort Yuma Indian Health Center at Winterhaven, California. The Clinical Laboratory Services include Chemistry, Hematology, Limited Microbiology, Rapid Virology, and Urinalysis; incumbent provides administrative and technical direction of the Lab, includes design, implementation, direction, coordination and maintenance of laboratory program.

Designs and initiates an effective ongoing process to monitor the quality and appropriateness of the laboratory services being provided to patients.
Conducts quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products by designing and implementing instruments, reagent, and product check systems. Develops and implement plans for providing laboratory services. Exercises full-line supervisory and managerial responsibility for planning, organizing, coordination and controlling overall laboratory operations through subordinate supervisors and staff members.
Provides professional leadership and program direction in administrative practices, education and research related to clinical laboratory services to insure the fulfillment of the Hospital goals and objectives. Ensures that care is delivered to each patient in accordance with quality standards. Oversees the recruitment and retention of qualified, competent personnel to provide the highest possible standard of laboratory services.
