Major Duties

Responsible for all technical/administrative management of the multidisciplinary clinical laboratory services at the institution. Responsible for scheduling, which must be accomplished to provide coverage for a nine-hour period, five days a week, and provide for adequate coverage for assistance as needed during non-regular work hours. Plans and provides an integrated diagnostic testing program, which includes Hematology, Coagulation, Serology, Specimen Collection, Chemistry, Immunochemistry, and Urinalysis. Responsible for the coordination of all other laboratory testing to include Transfusion Services and microbiology testing to be performed by an outside contracting laboratory. Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.
