Job Summary

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Operations Support, Immediate Office of the Executive Assistant Commissioner, located in Washington, DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.

Major Duties

This position serves as the lead supervisor and strategic advisor for Operations Support correspondence and taskings, overseeing high-visibility incoming and outgoing communications, executive-level deliverables, workflow management, quality control, and correspondence procedures. The incumbent supervises a team of Correspondence Analysts and support staff while providing strategic guidance, analytical review, and executive communication support to senior leadership. This work supports CBP and DHS mission objectives by ensuring timely, accurate, and strategically aligned communications for Operations Support. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). Providing high-level administrative and strategic support, including preparing the EAC for critical meetings with CBP and DHS leadership, drafting executive-level communications pertaining to OS initiatives, and managing special projects on behalf of the EAC that directly impact OS operations and strategic goals. Reviewing, analyzing, and prioritizing all incoming tasking deliverables and correspondence for offices within OS, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives and executive priorities. Identifying trends in OS correspondence and provides strategic suggestions to improve work processes and ensure the agency's timely and accurate response to all correspondence received. Establishing and enforcing rigorous quality control standards for all outgoing responses originating from OS, ensuring proper format, accuracy, completeness, and adherence to executive communication protocols. Supervising a team of Correspondence Analysts and support staff responsible for managing the flow of all incoming and outgoing taskings, deliverables, and correspondence.
