Job Summary

This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Protective Service (FPS). The primary purpose of this position is to manage, direct and supervise the criminal investigative and intelligence programs and other law enforcement activities involving the investigation, apprehension, and detention of individuals suspected or convicted of offenses against the criminal laws of the United States. Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.

Key Responsibilities

The Federal Protective Service (FPS) is hiring for law enforcement jobs that have an exciting opportunity! Once onboarded, you may be assigned for up to one year to support the D.C. Safe and Beautiful Task Force. The law enforcement component of the D.C. Task Force is a partnership of over 20 federal and local agencies working together to make D.C. the safest city in America. Once the assignment ends, you'll transition back to support FPS. Visit the D.C.

As a Supervisory Criminal Investigator, GS-1811-14, your typical work assignments may include: Monitor the progress of all investigations through frequent, recurring discussions with assigned criminal investigators and staff, including reviewing plans for key aspects of criminal investigations.

Manage and oversee the review and analysis of information gathered at the regional level for coordination with the Threat Management Division at FPS headquarters. Maintain liaison with federal and local law enforcement agencies for coordination and cooperation in conducting joint criminal investigations and for assembling and presenting evidence in criminal matters relating to felonies and other major criminal investigations.
