This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

The Outpatient Clinic of the North Florida/South Georgia Veterans Health System DIS includes General Radiology, CT, Ultrasound, and MRI. Function with initiative and independent judgment in his or her sphere of responsibilities. Formulate plans, delegate authority and follow-up on delegated tasks to assure effectiveness of assignments given to subordinate Lead DRT and staff technologists. Assigns work and duties based on the appropriateness of assignments, difficulties of assignments and the capability of the employee, maximizing utilization of DIS services. Perform Annual Performance Appraisals and quarterly competencies for the assigned technical staff. Assures that the DIS sections have appropriate coverage in their section including approves/disapproves all leave requests and section overtime, establish holiday assignment roster, develops and implements appropriate calendars for department coverage. Prepare meeting agendas, in-service presentations and hold monthly meetings with staff to communicate changes and expectations for each section under their supervision. Serves on boards and makes recommendations to the Chief Technologist, Imaging Program Administrator and Chief of Radiology for employee's reassignments, awards, and disciplinary actions. Continually reviews new developments in the field of radiology. Delegated to act in the absence of the Chief Technologist.
