Job Summary
This vacancy announcement is open exclusively to employees within the Department of the Interior (DOI), Office of the Secretary (OS), Office of Communications (OCO). Applicants who are not part of OCO are not eligible, even if they are employed by DOI or OS. This is not a remote position, and selectee will be required to report to a federal facility.
Key Responsibilities
This position is located within the Department of the Interior, Office of the Secretary, Office of Communications. At the full performance level GS-14 the major duties of this position include, but are not limited to the following: Responsible for the technical and administrative supervision of a large and complex staff in professional, technical, clerical and administrative work to carry out the mission of the organization.
Serve as a Department expert on Multimedia Communications Specialist for the Office of the Secretary, Office of Communications, directing, planning, producing, and managing wide range of visual communication products, from conception to production, and providing a finished product that enables the viewers to better comprehend the ideas and programs presented and is of special significance in presenting information of vital interest.
Provide expertise to effectively advise on official graphics, digital and multimedia products. Performing the full range of complex assignments and projects using expertise in multiple computer systems and applications. Lead end-to-end multimedia production for Department leadership by directing studio, broadcast, field, and national-level communications efforts.
Serve as the Department's principal technical authority for production technology, post-production workflows, and multimedia asset management, defining system requirements; evaluating and implementing technical solutions; and coordinating with IT, security, facilities, acquisition, and communications teams to maintain and improve production environments.
