The Supervisory Financial Management Specialist position is located within the Consolidated Patient Account Center (CPAC) serving as the Accounts Management Manager for the Accounts Management Department. The CPAC is a regionally consolidated business entity designed to enhance revenue within the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).
Major duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Monitors and evaluates administrative activities, implementing substantive recommendations for program improvements, ensuring effective use of office staff and resources within given timelines, and recommending needed changes to enhance services. Exercises responsibility for all accounts receivable activities for all the facilities assigned to the CPAC.
Ensures that collection activities are conducted in accordance with established laws, rules, regulations, and policies Provides management oversight, guidance and direction for monitoring activities designed to ensure the integrity and accuracy of healthcare collection activities. Identifies negative trends and develops strategies for improvement.
Monitors the review of claims data in order to identify patterns or trends and to ensure accurate billing in accordance with appropriate rules and regulations. Takes appropriate action to correct deficiencies when noted by reassigning work assignments, training, requesting additional staffing and/or overtime, and related actions. Ensures maximum benefit payments are received from insurance companies and/or Third-Party administrators.
Maintains accuracy and updating of current workflow tools to accommodate resource allocation. Other related duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
Supervisory Probationary Period: Selectee may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period.
