The incumbent serves as a Supervisory Information Specialist for one of the organizational units in the Centralized Support Division which is physically located at 9700 Page Boulevard. The Centralized Support Division is responsible for responding to requests from the Regional Offices for digital and/or paper military personnel and service treatment records and Privacy Act and Freedom of Information Action requests.
Major Duties: Provides administrative and technical support and supervise a staff of employees to accomplish the work of the organizational unit. .Helps resolve informal complaints and grievances while monitoring training of employees and certifies all training requirements are met. Assure the accomplishment of Affirmative Action Objectives, adhering to nondiscriminatory employment practices in regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age or disability.
Provides daily management of the unit's workload, adjusting where needed to ensure external stakeholders receive the items sought from the agency in an efficient manner while also ensuring that items released from the agency comply with federal law, agency regulations, and station policy. Reviews, interprets, and implements directives, regulations, operating manuals, and any legislative changes which affect current and future operations.
Provides supervisory oversight to ensure information is protected from unauthorized release or from loss, alteration, or unauthorized deletion.
Utilizes various software applications to include but not limited to: Microsoft Word, Adobe Reader, Microsoft Excel or comparable software to execute several office automation functions such as storing and retrieving electronic documents and files; activating printers; inserting and deleting text, formatting letters, reports and memos, using spreadsheets, and transmitting and receiving emails Work Schedule: Full time, Monday through Friday 8:00am-4:30pm Telework: This position is eligible for situational (ad hoc) telework only.
The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval.
