The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing and exercising control over non-supervisory employees assigned to USSOCOM Command History Office.
Advises the Commander and Joint Directors on the historical context of current events and planning, contributing to strategy and operations.
Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Command History Office, ensuring that the historical program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Represents USSOCOM with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Formulates USSOCOM Historical Policy and implements the USSOCOM Historical Program.
Develops and implements the SOF operational studies publication program and operational archives. Documents SOF operations worldwide. Develops and implements the SOF Oral History Program.
