You will serve as a Supervisory HR Specialist with the Office of Human Capital, Operations Division, Quality Assurance and Processing Branch. Duty location will be based on selectee's current DOI duty location. Salary Range information (Per Annum): GS-14: $125,776 to $163,514 (The salary listed in the announcement is at the Rest of U.S. Locality). The geographical locality pay will be determined at the time of selection.
Some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: As the Chief of the Quality Assurance Team, the incumbent leads, manages, and oversees a comprehensive enterprise-wide quality assurance program that evaluates the accuracy, consistency, and regulatory compliance of human capital operations.
The position provides strategic direction and operational oversight for quality assurance activities across multiple HR functional areas, ensuring personnel actions and workforce data undergo systematic assessment aligned with organizational priorities and federal requirements. The incumbent develops and implements standardized QA methodologies, internal controls, and review protocols that strengthen audit readiness and promote uniformity in HR processing practices.
The Chief assesses quality trends, analyzes error patterns, identifies systemic issues, and designs corrective strategies to improve data integrity and operational reliability throughout the enterprise. The position collaborates closely with HR processing units and leadership to ensure QA findings translate into actionable improvements, monitors the implementation of corrective actions, and advances continuous improvement initiatives through structured feedback loops.
Additionally, the Chief exercises full supervisory authority over subordinate supervisors and staff, establishing performance expectations, evaluating work, providing coaching and technical guidance, and ensuring the efficient use of organizational resources to meet mission goals. The incumbent performs additional related duties to support Department-wide HR quality excellence.
This position does not allow substituting education for experience.
