This position is part of the Defense Human Resources Activity. The incumbent will be responsible for leading the development and oversight of the Department of War (DoW)-wide civilian workforce plans, policies and programs.
As a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Labor & Employee Relations) at the GS-0201-15 some of your typical work assignments may include: Serves as the senior policy advisor and Director for Workforce Governance & Integration, leading the development and oversight of Department of War (DoW)-wide civilian workforce plans, policies, and programs that impact over 800,000 employees. Directs and manages a variety of major functional areas of civilian personnel policy, exercising broad managerial authority to oversee the planning, execution, and timely completion of strategic policies and initiatives. Provides technical and professional leadership by advising and briefing senior executive leadership on broad civilian personnel matters, evaluating the adequacy of current HR policies, and drafting recommended changes to legislation or federal regulations. Exercises full-scope supervisory responsibilities for a directorate of senior staff, including planning and assigning work, setting performance standards, making decisions on work problems and personnel actions, and managing organizational resources to achieve policy and program objectives and ensure timely, quality results.
