Job Summary

Click on "Learn more about this agency" button below to view Eligibilities being considered and other IMPORTANT information. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Deputy to the Chief of the Staffing Branch, exercising second level supervisory and managerial authorities.

Key Responsibilities

1: Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short/long-term priorities, and prepares schedules for completion of work. Assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees. Evaluates work performance of subordinates.

2: Works with the Chief in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the office. Responsible with the Chief in planning, directing, integrating, and executing all objectives of the Staffing Branch.

Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements. 3: Represents the Staffing Branch with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.

Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with CPS members, management officials, etc. Meets with key customers and coordinating officials to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resolves significant problems that arise. Ensures subordinate units provide customer guidance and training. 4: Participates in special projects and initiatives and performs special assignments.

Identifies the need for and initiates special projects and studies affecting serviced population. Identifies resources needed and establishes milestones and goals. Researches and recommends action or interpretation of controversial issues for a large, multi-mission otherwise complex and diverse organization or installation to higher headquarters personnel staff.
