Job Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician with Geological Survey. This position serves in the Pennsylvania Water Science Center (PAWSC) in Williamsport, PA which supervises a group of employees conducting data collection, analysis, and publication in support of varying complexity throughout Pennsylvania and in support of USGS national programs. GS-12 Salary: Salary: $89,508 (Step 01) to $116,362 (Step 10)

Key Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Hydrologic Technician within the Pennsylvania Water Science Center, some of the major duties you will perform include but are not limited to the following: Plans, designs, schedules, and supervises the activities of employees and student interns engaged in surface, ground, and water-quality hydrologic data collection, data management, and data reporting activities for the Williamsport Office of the Science Center.

Promotes and maintains cooperator relations with USGS programs, and local, State, and other Federal agencies concerned with the development and operation of hydrologic networks. Serves as the local expert on new and innovative technologies in hydrologic data collection. Provides administrative and technical direction to the staff utilizing knowledge of pertinent Federal and Bureau personnel, EEO, safety, finance and procurement policies and procedures.

Requirements & Education

This position does not allow substituting education for experience. Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
