Job Summary

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center at Port San Antonio, TX. This is a regular full-time category position with guaranteed 40 hrs. per week. Employees appointed to a regular category position are eligible for benefits.

Key Responsibilities

Serves as a first level supervisor planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory IT positions. Performs duties as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of Gaming IT services tailored to support critical command, control, and mission information, processes, and systems.

As high-level Supervisory technical specialist, manages the global operations, sustainment and maintenance of a full spectrum of complex Enterprise Gaming IT services for the organization. Overseas and directs the implementation of emerging technologies and IT trends. Applies advanced IT principles, concepts, laws, policies, methods, standards, and practices to plan and carry out difficult, unique, and complex assignments and develop new methods, approaches, and procedures.

Develops and interprets policies, procedures, and strategies governing the planning and delivery of IT services throughout the gaming organization. Provides expert technical advice, guidance, and recommendations to management and other technical specialists on critical IT issues. Applies laws, regulations and DoD policies governing IT to the organization's business requirements, and provides related briefings to senior leadership, and commercial counterparts.

Develops performance management plans and performance measurement methods and tools. Applies methods for identifying and resolving IT workforce issues. Develops goals and objectives to support the organization's Information Technology Strategic Plan. Prepares the budget submission in support of the IT Capital Plan. Manages the operations support budget. Directs the development of an enterprise IT modernization plan.

Using knowledge of the interrelationships of multiple IT disciplines, advises senior management and other senior IT professionals on solutions to a wide range of IT issues. Serves as a senior expert or consultant to top agency management officials. Responsible for developing and implementing information security and information assurance policies, principles, and practices. Performs supervisory personnel management responsibilities.

Structures assignments and reviews work of subordinates based on priorities and deadlines, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of assignments, and the capabilities of employees.

Assure mission and accuracy requirements are complete; selects employees; hears and resolves grievances and complaints; initiates and advocates appropriate corrective and/or adverse action for performance or conduct; schedules and grants leave; identifies training needs; develops and implements training plans.

Supports the agency's EEO program through allocation of personnel to participate in community outreach and recruitment programs, ensures full cooperation of employees with EEO office officials. Advises employees in advance of performance expectations. Provides proper guidance and direction, continuous feedback on strengths and weaknesses, and holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments.

Appraises performance within established Air Force guidelines and timeframes. Provides and advocates appropriate recognition and feedback for employee performance and contribution, using the full range of honorary and monetary awards. Practices sound position management by periodically reviewing organization structures and functional assignments to ensure position descriptions are accurate.

Ensures education in and compliance with security directives and good safety and health directives in all work areas. Ensure all known security violations reported to the proper authority immediately when discovered. Deploys as required to immediately analyze, devise, integrate, implement, and support gaming activities.

Implements systems, applications, and new technologies in comprehensive and supportable architectures that meet leaders', operators', staffs', and support team mission needs. Understands, interprets, analyzes, develops, and executes strategies, policies, and procedures that implement and support gaming operations. Examines and evaluates alternative means of satisfying user requirements. Suggests technically feasible approaches and makes recommendations to the user.

Evaluate vendor-developed software to ensure defined subject-matter requirements can be accommodated. Conducts feasibility studies to evaluate software already in use in other private organizations. Evaluation usually requires deviating from traditional methods in that the employee researches trends and patterns to develop new and improved methods or to formulate criteria. Implements state-of-the art techniques and technology.
