This position is in the Department of the Chief Information Office, Product Development Office (PDO), Mission Support Systems Division (MSSD). MSSD develops, delivers, and supports case and client management systems for the federal Judiciary, including the probation and pretrial services offices.
The Supervisory Information Technology Specialist serves as the Probation and Pretrial Services Branch Chief within the Mission Support Systems Division (MSSD) in the Product Development Office (PDO). The position provides comprehensive, end-to-end oversight of the design, development, implementation, integration, and operation of the judiciary's mission-critical probation and pretrial services case management systems, including the transition from established legacy systems to modernized environments. The incumbent ensures that product goals and strategies remain aligned with the broader mission and established organizational priorities. This position reports to the MSSD Chief. Duties include, but are not limited to: Leads and oversees all activities related to the Probation and Pretrial Services Branch's suite of applications and effectively executes Senior Product Manager functions. Works with organizational leaders and product teams to translate business and user needs into requirements, define product vision, establish priorities, and support effective product planning and development. Reviews and evaluates product proposals, solutions, and strategies and authorizes implementation in alignment with organizational priorities. Keeps division leadership and key stakeholders informed of product activities, progress, risks, and outcomes. Develops and oversees product roadmaps, priorities, and backlogs to support strategic objectives and delivery requirements. Engages directly with federal courts to gather user feedback and identify current and future business and product needs. Develops product implementation and communication strategies and works with operations and technical delivery teams to support effective product adoption. Conducts research and analysis of court operations, user needs, emerging requirements, and alternative solutions to inform product strategy and development. Represents PDO and communicates product value, capabilities, and strategic direction to executive leadership, courts, and other stakeholders. Performs other duties as assigned by the MSSD Chief or PDO leadership.
