This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Directorate of Technology and Data Services (TDS). The primary purpose of this position is to plan, organize, and direct the activities of an l&A element as a Branch Chief, ensuring l&A operations related to intelligence support comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. As a Supervisory IT Specialist (Branch Chief), GS-2210-14, your typical work assignments may include: Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of an I&A element as a Branch Chief, ensuring I&A operations related to intelligence support comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts short-term priorities, and prepares schedules. Manages, directs, plans, and coordinates Federal IT requirements and develops strategies countering evolving threats in a rapidly changing global environment. Leads a team providing technical (oversight compliant) solutions to mission user customer generated requirements resulting in measurable mission outcomes. Develops mission use cases that drive successful technology initiatives. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Promotes an environment in which employees are empowered to participate in and contribute to effective mission accomplishment. Prepares and presents briefings. Prepares and analyzes reports; responses to queries, justifications, and background papers on the technical aspects of areas of expertise and assignment. Researches and determines or recommends appropriate actions or interpretation of issues impacting the organization.
