SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Child Development Center or School Age Care Program while ensuring the staff provides appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth in Child and Youth Programs (CYP).The incumbent provides routine supervisory oversight, accountability, safety of children, instruction,mentoring, and coaching for CYP direct care professionals who work in Department of Defense (DoD) operated militaryChild Development Centers or School Age Care Programs. The incumbent supervises, coaches, and manages their workto ensure the ongoing staff development, execution of DoD standards of care and curriculum, and delivery of care areconsistent with best practices of child/youth development programs. The incumbent is responsible for providing guidanceon scope of work and related duties, and assistance on the morecomplex, non-routine problems encountered by Child Development direct care professionals. DUTIES: As a supervisor, ensures staff provide appropriate developmental care and instruction for children and youth in Child Development or School Age Care Programs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other managers and professional staff to ensure seamless service and continuity of quality for all children and youth. Support and consistently reinforce developmental training of Child Development Center or School Age Care Programs direct care professionals. Conduct and review program evaluations of classroom and activity areas, identifying areas that need improvement, and establishing and implementing corrective action plans to address deficiencies. Conducts quality assurance checks on classroom/activity records to include, after action plans, medication and allergydocumentation, classroom inspection checklists, temperature logs, inclusion and behavior support plans, accident/incident reports, child attendance and accountability reports, as well as any locally required documentation.
