Job Summary
This position is located in the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Operations Divisions, Office of Operations Management (OM). This position(s) primary purpose is to provide counsel to field offices anticipating the seizure of assets and responds to processing questions posed by DEA field managers, United States Attorneys, state/local agencies and other Federal agencies involved in seizure and/or forfeiture proceedings.
Key Responsibilities
As a Supervisory Legal Administrative Specialist (Asset Forfeiture), your typical work assignments may include: Planning, executing, and reporting on original or ongoing asset forfeiture analyses or evaluations with varied, complex features that require a fresh approach to resolve new problems. Performing the administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff supervised. Developing work improvement plans, recommending personnel actions as necessary.
Providing guidance and advice within the organization concerning asset forfeiture policies, regulations. laws, and management practices. Assuring that subordinates are trained and fully comply with the provisions of the safety regulations. Responsible for all aspects of the administrative forfeiture process with respect to property assigned for forfeiture to his or her group.
Consulting with and provides guidance to DEA field agents and managers with regard to property and seizure and forfeiture processing procedures.
