What to Expect Manages library collections by periodically assessing materials, performing weeding functions, requesting new items, ensuring proper classification and shelving, and maintaining currency of electronic and phrsical holdings. Oversees the maintenance, cleanliness, and functionality of the library building, equipment, and furnishings. Monitors budget expenditures, supervises the handling of monies received, and prepares internal budgetary requests.
Supervises employees to include: assigning and distributing work; coaching, counseling, tutoring, and mentoring employees; approving and disapproving leave; recommending and completing personnel actions; conducting disciplinary actions when necessary; completing performance reviews; signing timesheets; and coordinating staff training and professional development. Performs other related duties as assigned.
