Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Professional Responsibility (OPR), Personnel Security Division in Washington DC. Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.
The incumbent serves as a first-level supervisor responsible for supervising a subordinate staff and performing studies of processes and organizational effectiveness in various assigned functional areas. You will be responsible for identifying, mitigating and countering threats and vulnerabilities which undermine CBP's workforce integrity and security. This position starts at a salary of $143,913.00 (GS-14, Step 1) to $187,093.00 (GS-14, Step 10). The Major Duties for this position are listed below but not limited to: Overseeing program activities to assess progress against established plans, identify resource requirements, and recommend adjustments to personnel, funding, organizational structure, and long-range objectives. Providing leadership, guidance, task assignments, training, performance feedback, and quality assurance for team members to ensure effective completion of program responsibilities. Coordinating with external policy entities, internal policy and legal offices, and CBP Program Offices to identify, develop, communicate, train on, and implement policies and procedures. Planning, developing, and administering management controls, briefings, presentations, data submissions, budget and resource inputs, and policy guidance to support executive decision-making and ensure alignment with formal guidance.
