Job Summary

This position serves as Director of Pharmacy Services, or Chief Pharmacist, for the Crow Service Unit, and provides managerial and administration program direction of the Pharmacy Program to support the mission of the Indian Health Services. The position is responsible for the total operation of the service unit's pharmacy services and serves approx. 14,000 Native American and Alaska Natives. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R.

37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Total Compensation Package - Check out IHS's outstanding total compensation package for this job: Pharmacist Total Compensation | Pay (ihs.gov) Supervisory Functions - Administrative Supervision, Develop sound personnel management practices in administration by selection qualified professionals/supportive personnel.

Formulates final decisions in planning, organizing, directing and evaluating the entire operation pertaining to pharmaceutical services provided in order to maintain efficiency and economy. Quality Assurance - Develops, implements, and/or maintains plans to assure drug use review are education, well-designed, meaningful and consistent with the Joint Commission (TJC), CMS, or other regulatory body guidelines.

Drug Distribution - Develops and maintains a drug distribution process that meets the needs of patients and the medical center. Direct drug distribution system that assures accuracy, legible labeling, quick responsiveness and inventory accountability. Education - Identifies staff continuing education needs based on performance. Develops, implements and/or maintains a plan to continually build practice skills.

Clinical - Develops and maintains general, specialized and sub-specialized clinical pharmacy services that are synergistic with other service unit programs, promote clinical economics and optimize patient outcomes.
