The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as a first level supervisor and/or flight/Section chief, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over non-supervisory employees and military members assigned to a Security Forces (SF) Squadron.

Major Duties

Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of a Security Forces Flight/Section, ensuring that personnel comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs. Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Performs and enforces the full spectrum of Police Officer duties within the assigned federal jurisdiction. Incumbent has full powers of apprehension and detention, which entails carrying a firearm, mirandizing suspects, preserving evidence and testifying in court as it pertains to enforcing regulations within Federal Jurisdiction. Performs the full range of installation perimeter access control duties. Provides a safe and secure environment for base personnel through the implementation of policies and procedures which support the Air Force Installation. Performs the full range of duties for defending Protection Level Resources. Perform emergency response and incident command and control. First responder to critical incidents. Establishes initial command and control. Reacts to neutralize threats, secure resources, personnel, and property.
