This position is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Policy (OASP), which provides advice and assistance to the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and Department on matters of policy development, evaluation, regulations, and legislation that will improve the lives of workers, retirees, and their families.
The primary duties and responsibilities as the Supervisory Program Analyst include but are not limited to: -Supervise program analysts and economists, and evaluate the work and contributions of individual staff members and carries out normal personnel management responsibilities such as EEO, selection, discipline, employee development, and performance management. -Review the regulatory and economic impact analyses to assess compliance with E.O. 12866 and other relevant Executive Orders, laws and directives. -Analyze quantitative and qualitative data related to assigned areas to determine the potential impact of regulatory and legislative proposals. -Develop complex program and regulatory analyses for the creation, modification, and evaluation of DOL agency regulations, and program activities and prepares documents that contain recommendations for substantive changes to agency regulatory proposals. -Draft, oversee, and edit detailed written reports, regulatory guidance documents, economic analyses, and option papers for oral and written presentation to the Assistant Secretary, Deputy Assistant Secretaries, Director, and other senior-level officials. -Plan and execute short and long term regulatory and economic analyses that relate primarily to proposed or current regulations and initiatives.
