The purpose of this position is to provide developmental-level management and program analysis support to Surgical Service by collecting and analyzing routine operational data, preparing reports, coordinating administrative activities, and assisting with established program, compliance, workforce, and workflow processes. The incumbent performs assignments using established methods and procedures and refers complex, unusual, or policy-sensitive matters to the supervisor.
Major duties include, but are not limited to the following: - Collects, validates, aggregates, trends, and analyzes workload, staffing, access, patient-flow, resource-utilization, productivity, documentation, and other operational data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas requiring management attention.
- Reviews administrative workflows and processes to identify inefficiencies, duplication, delays, data-quality issues, or other procedural problems and recommends practical improvements within established program requirements. - Applies established analytical techniques, including workload analysis, trend analysis, comparison of current and historical data, and review of performance information, to assist management in assessing administrative operations.
- Works with managers, clinical staff, and administrative personnel to identify and resolve problems involving data collection, reporting, workload capture, administrative procedures, and related operational processes. - Advises and assists managers and staff concerning data-collection methods, reporting requirements, trend analysis, statistical tools, and interpretation and presentation of management information.
- Develops and improves spreadsheets, reports, tracking mechanisms, and other analytical tools used to collect, organize, validate, and present program and administrative information. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level.
