The Supervisory Program Specialist position is organizationally aligned to the Business Office within the Community Care Service at the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, Chicago, IL.
The Community Care/RCT ACD Supervisory Program Specialist serves as the direct line supervisor for the Lead Medical Support Assistant(s) and all Medical Support Assistant (MSA) staff in the assigned clinical areas and is a foundational role within the Community Care, Referral Consult Team, and ACD line operations.
Develops, reviews, analyzes, implements, and conducts training based on departmental needs. Performs analysis of audit findings related to consult management and scheduling. Assesses training and education efforts to determine the effectiveness of the training program while keeping abreast of any changes or updates to directives related to consult management and scheduling. Provides detailed guidance to staff concerning consult management and scheduling.
Works with supervisors, managers and service chiefs to resolve discrepancies or conflicts with established consult management. Provides consultation and assistance in implementation of performance improvement activities. Provides essential administrative clinic management and scheduling support to Physicians, Advanced Provider Practitioners, Nurses, Dietitians, Social Workers, and other administrative and clinical staff throughout the service area and Community Providers.
