The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the principal adviser to the Commander/Director, senior staff, and external leaders on all matters relating to internal and external communication, including policy formulation and the potential public reaction to proposed policy, activities, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities at least 25% of the time. As Chief of Public Affairs, plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the organization's Public Affairs program.

Directs the execution of a comprehensive Public Affairs program integrating media relations, social media, community/Congressional relations, internal information, visual information, communication planning, contingency/crisis response, special event planning, security and policy review, and Public Affairs resource management elements.

Represents the office with a variety of installation and local governmental, public, civic, service, industry, educational, and media organizations.
