The Prosthetic & Sensory Aids Service (PSAS) at their assigned duty station of the James A. Haley Veteran Affairs(VA) Hospital and Clinics. Depending on duty Station, the applicant may aid and services to a number areas of the hospital, including Medical Staff, Home Based Primary Care, Contract Nursing Homes, VA Nursing Home, Social Workers and Spinal Cord Injury to ensure provide the necessary items/ services to disable veterans.
Include but are not limited to: Provides technical and administrative supervision to a unit of Purchasing Agents Oversees the daily operations of the unit, ensuring the agency policies and priorities are being followed; develops performance standards; and evaluate work performance of subordinates. Resolves minor complaints from employees, refers group grievances and more serious unresolved complaints to a higher-level supervisor or manager; Gives advice, counsel, and instructions to employees on both work and administrative matters. Interviews candidates for positions in the unit; recommend appointments, promotions, and reassignments to unit positions; identifies and provides for training needs; and finds ways to improve production or increase the quality of work within the area of authority. He/she will review daily workload needs, establish expected time of completion of work and assign/distribute the work to appropriate purchasing staff based on job specialization and work flow Serves as the Prosthetic Treatment Center's Supervisor Purchasing Agent and is responsible for all procurement functions of the Prosthetic Patient Services section and for insuring that all patient prosthetic orders are procured within the time frame established by Veteran Affairs Central Office (VACO).
