About the position: This position will be a Supervisory Recreation Assistant assigned to Outdoor Recreation at Minot AFB, ND. This is a REGULAR FULL-TIME (RFT) position. 35-40 hours are guaranteed each week. Employees are eligible to use the fitness center, golf course, bowling center, clubs, and swimming pool.
Plans, develops, and coordinates with other Force Support activities to ensure cross marketing programs, and to execute programming adventures for active and retired military, their dependents, NAF employees and DoD Civilians. These activities constitute a year-round program. Develops, distributes, and assesses customer interest through surveys. Based on survey results, makes programming recommendations to supervisor. Coordinates publicity needs with the marketing office.
Supervises assigned personnel. Assigns and reviews subordinate work and provides instruction and guidance as required. Establish performance standards and evaluate employee performance. Prepares requests and justification for awards, reassignments, and promotions. Apply Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and requirements to all personnel management actions.
Uses work processing software to produce a variety of documents to include forms, reports, messages, memorandums, etc. associated with organization functions. As required, assists Outdoor Recreation Manager with the outdoor recreation programs. May assist in planning, organizing, and escorting participants on day trips or overnight outings. As needed, coordinates availability of supplies, equipment, and transportation for trips and activities.
Provides guidance and leadership to the various outdoor recreation activity participants; modifying, adapting, expanding, or otherwise changing plans and procedures for such activities as development requires. Ensures safety orientation is provided regarding specific activities. May fill in for Outdoor Recreation Manager when needed. Performs other duties as assigned.
