Job Summary

You will serve as a Supervisory Recreation Fee Specialist with the National Park Service. This position is located in Arches National Park, in the Division of Interpretation, Education, and Visitor Services.

Key Responsibilities

MAJOR DUTIES: This position will provide support in overseeing the daily operations of complex fee collection program which includes entrance stations, campgrounds, central remit office, and traffic control operations. Staff reporting directly to the incumbent will include Recreation Fee Technicians, Lead Recreation Fee Technicians, and volunteer camp hosts.

The position will analyze and evaluate the fee program operations and develop short and long-term plans for the fee program. The incumbent will lead collaborative recruitment efforts for all subordinate positions. The position is responsible for understanding and adhering to prescribed human resource policies during the recruitment process.

The position will support fee program reviews to ensure that concepts outlined in RM-22 are being applied in daily fee collection operations. The incumbent will interpret visitor use trends and changing management goals to maximize efficiency of fee collection operations. The position will analyze and evaluate projects and proposals addressing cost of collection, facility investment, security, and visitor services.

The position will oversee the operational management of the Interagency Pass Program and public reservation system processes and procedures. You may be required to work on-call, evenings, weekends, holidays, overtime and shift work. Headquarters offices for Arches are located in Moab, Utah. A town of approximately 6,000 residents sitting at a 4,000 foot elevation, Moab provides all basic amenities including doctors, dentists, hospital, schools (K-12), churches, and shopping.

Requirements & Education

You must submit a copy of your transcript(s) to support claimed education if substituting education for experience. Transcripts must include your name, school name, grades, credit hours earned, major(s), grade point average or class ranking, and date the degree was conferred, if applicable. A typed list of courses, grades, semester/quarter hours, GPA, etc. will not be accepted. Non-submission may result in being rated not qualified for the position.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable, but if you are selected for this position and you used your education to qualify, you must provide official transcripts before you begin work.

Foreign Education: To receive credit for education completed outside the United States, you must show proof that the education has been submitted to a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials and such education has been deemed at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education programs.
