Job Summary

Within this system, the Social Work/Field Education Manager oversees social work education, training programs, and clinical supervision, while also providing leadership across multiple service areas including Primary Care/PACT Social Work, Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) Assistance, Survivor Assistance Memorial Support, Spinal Cord Injury and Home-Based Primary Care (HBPC) social work.

Major Duties

Major Duties/Responsibilities: Provides leadership, oversight, and direction for assigned social work programs, ensuring that services are aligned with VA mission, policies, and national standards of care. Develops, evaluates, and updates program policies, procedures, and workflows to improve efficiency, quality, access, and Veteran experience. Leads long range and short-range program planning, including operational priorities, staffing needs, resource utilization, and performance goals. Analyzes workload, performance metrics, and program data to guide decision making and resource planning. Ensures program compliance with Joint Commission, CARF (if applicable), VA Directives, VISN guidance, and all accreditation standards. Provides clinical and administrative supervision to social workers and interdisciplinary staff assigned to the program. Provides individual and group clinical supervision to unlicensed social workers and social work associates toward independent licensure. Serves as a mentor for early-career social workers, guiding professional development, advanced practice skills, and ethical decision making.
