Job Summary

This position is located in the Social Services Department at the Pine Ridge Service Unit, in Pine Ridge, SD. Incumbent is responsible for assessing, planning, organizing, directing and administering the Social Services Department. Works in a regularly assigned, rotation or call back basis to provide continuity of social services during evenings, nights, holidays, and weekends. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Key Responsibilities

Provides direct and indirect patient care services that addresses the overall psychosocial needs of the patient, family, community and Service Unit programs. Provides mental health consultation and training services to staff, various community and tribal groups, agencies such as schools, law enforcement, courts and substance abuse programs, child protection agencies.

Ensures staff assist with coordination of patient care through participation and collaboration with community and tribal programs. Responsible for program management duties which includes budget management, development of position descriptions, supervising staff and assigning work for the department.
