It is located at the Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System in Los Angeles, California.
Key job duties include, but are not limited to: Leads and manages the VA Food Hub Program focused on reducing food insecurity among Veterans and their families. Oversees a multidisciplinary team and coordinates daily Food Hub operations, including pantry services and nutrition resources. Ensures Veterans receive timely access to food assistance, nutrition education, and same-day referrals to VA and community services.
Conducts psychosocial assessments, case management, care coordination, and advocacy for Veterans with complex social and healthcare needs. Develops and maintains partnerships with food banks, community agencies, and internal VA programs to expand food security resources. Tracks program effectiveness, collects and analyzes data, and recommends improvements to Food Hub services and policies.
Provides staff supervision, clinical guidance, and training support, including oversight of unlicensed social workers and trainees. Manages inventory, ordering, and pantry operations while ensuring compliance with VA policies, privacy requirements, and professional standards. Serves as the subject matter expert on food insecurity, nutrition-related resources, and community partnerships.
Operates independently with responsibility for program development, strategic planning, quality improvement, and overall program effectiveness.
