This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment.
Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.
VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Major duties included but not limited to: The WVPP Program Coordinator directs administrative and clinical aspects of the Workplace Violence Prevention Program across the TVAMC system and is responsible for the oversight of specialized programs and staff, including the Disruptive Behavior Committee (DBC), Employee Threat Assessment Team (ETAT), Disruptive Behavior Reporting Systems (DBRS), Workplace Behavioral Risk Assessment (WBRA) and Prevention and Management of Disruptive Behavior (PMDB) Trainers.
The WVPP has oversight and administrative authority over all programming and participates in program development, implementation, and evaluation. The incumbent is expected to remain engaged in service and hospital activities by serving on committee, participating in workgroups and engaging in education activities for staff and trainees.
The WVPP Program Coordinator delivers specialized, complex, highly professional services that are important program components of the medical center and significantly impact health care provided to Veterans and safety of patients and staff.
The WVPP Program Coordinator is accountable for clinical and administrative operation of the WVPP for TVAMC and is expected to adhere to service standards regarding matters of timeliness, accuracy and compliance with procedures and quantity of work produced. Forming and maintaining a cohesive team of staff from a variety of disciplines and supervisory chains of authority to ensure targeted and evidence-based efforts to ensure the safety of TVAMC stakeholders.
Interpreting and writing policies, procedures, and program guidelines in the development, planning, operations, and continuous performance improvement of all components of the WVPP and evaluating efficacy of improvement efforts. Preparing reports and statistics for facility, VISN and national use. Providing leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development and continuing education program for assigned staff.
Collaborating with other departments/services to manage use of data related to the WVPP programs regarding day-to-day functioning, effectiveness and program evaluation and develop strategic plans for growth and development of the program. Ensuring all workplace violence prevention activities within the facility take a trauma-informed approach, while also ensuring the safety of Veterans, visitors, volunteers, contractors, trainees and staff as the primary goal.
Responding to and completing all facility, VISN and Central Office requests for information about any WVPP section, including PMDB, DBC, ETAT or WBRA, related to any form of disruptive behavior incidents and/or involving employees, volunteers, trainees or contractors.
Maintaining primary responsibility for development and implementation of all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); however, must work with several different services and programs (i.e., Medicine, Mental Health, Nursing, Psychology, Safety officials, VA Police, Senior Leadership, Regional Council, Pharmacy and others) to develop specific procedures Collaborating effectively with the Mental Health Service Line leadership, Executive Leadership Team, legal representatives, the Office of Inspector General, court officials including the Assistant U.S.
Attorney, police (VA and community), and other consumers and/or community providers when necessary. Obtaining and maintaining PMDB Certified Trainer status, and obtaining and maintaining Master Trainer Status, which will require travel to other VHA and DoD facilities nationwide, to teach PMDB Train-the-Trainer courses.
Assisting in the education of TVAMC staff in recognizing signs and factors of potential danger, ways to de-escalate disruptions and identifying VA resources that can directly address individual needs to help improve the quality of Veteran care and reduce overall risk.
Leading the Behavioral Rapid Response Team (BRRT) of administrative and clinical executives such as the Chief of Staff (COS), Chief of Police, Regional Counsel, Patient Safety, Mental Health, to assess, triage and manage patient-generative disruptive behavior immediately. Overseeing the day-to-day business of the committee and serves as the primary person responsible for committee actions. Work Schedule: 08:00am-4:30pm - Monday thru Friday.
