Job Summary

The incumbent serves as the Supervisory Social Worker for the Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) Mental Health Service Line.

Major Duties

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. VA Careers - Social Work: https://youtube.com/embed/enRhz_ua_UU Major Duties: Mental Health Outpatient programming is a significant component of whole health care offered at the Wisconsin Rapids CBOC. The Supervisory Social Worker is involved in all daily aspects of managing this clinic including program structure, staff hiring, implementation of programming, performance improvement measures, and policies and procedures. The program components managed in the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic are of considerable scope, size, and complexity, and may include management of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, licensed professional counselors, and peer support. Supervisory responsibilities include hiring, performance evaluations, time and leave, disciplinary action, and monitoring of productivity standards. Wide latitude and independent judgment are exercised when making decisions impacting staff and other resources associated with management of the Mental Health Outpatient Clinic. The Supervisory Social Worker role entails considerable organization and coordination of resources with others within the mental health service line (MHSL), as well as other services throughout the facility to improve access and efficiency, oversee care coordination, and ensure high quality care.
