This position is located in Austin, Texas at the Financial Services Center (FSC). The incubent provides program management oversight for nation-wide Payroll execution while ensuring VA's multi-billion-dollar payroll is reported and recorded timely and accuraly.
Major Duties: Plans organizational structure and staffing needs. Ensures an efficient, effective and economical position structure is established that will provide career and promotional opportunities and skills. Plans work to be accomplished by subordinates, sets and adjusts priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Plans, organizes, and directs the operations of the Payroll Support Operations Section.
Responsible for coordination for payroll audits and inspections. Work Schedule: Mon- Fri 8:00am - 4:30pm Compressed/Flexible: Available with supervisory approval. Telework: Ad hoc telework (situational telework) available as determined by the agency policy. Virtual: This is not a virtual position.

Receiving Service Credit or Earning Annual (Vacation) Leave: Federal Employees earn annual leave at a rate (4, 6 or 8 hours per pay period) which is based on the number of years they have served as a Federal employee. VA may offer newly-appointed Federal employee's credit for their job-related non-federal experience or active duty uniformed military service. This credited service can be used in determining the rate at which they earn annual leave.
Such credit must be requested and approved prior to the appointment date and is not guaranteed.
