The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the management all Veteran Transportation Services and program activities, including patient transport, Special Mode Travel (SMT), mileage reimbursement claims, transportation contracts, 911 ambulance claims, inter-facility transfers, and common carrier transportation. The position assists in oversight and budgeting activities, ensuring processes comply with regulatory guidance, while assuring program effectiveness.
***THIS IS NOT A VIRTUAL POSITION, YOU MUST LIVE WITHIN OR BE WILLING TO RELOCATE WITHIN A COMMUTABLE DISTANCE OF THE DUTY LOCATION*** Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Exercises supervisory responsibility over the activities of the Transportation Assistants and Motor Vehicle Operators in the performance of their daily duties Conducts complex and special studies for efficiency and productivity and recommends changes or improvements in work methods and procedures Develops procedures and systems for establishing, operating, and assessing the effectiveness of administrative control systems Identifies resources (staffing, funding, equipment, facilities) required to support varied level of program operations Reviews administrative audits and investigative reports to recommend appropriate changes or corrective action required Conducts special cost benefits analyses, studies, reports, surveys, inquiries, and evaluations Prepares oral and written reports and presentations - prepares graphs and charts that present clear, concise, and effective analytical results of, evaluations and studies performed and provides staff level with formal presentations Coordinates work operations, assigns tasks, provides coverage, and assures that the work is completed in a timely manner Receives and reviews billings from various parties for government payment and verifies services billed were authorized Performs analysis of budget requests to include techniques such as cost-benefit analysis or exploring alternative methods of funding Serves as the first-level point of contact for escalated Veteran concerns and attempts to resolve issues before referring to the Mobility Manager Performs other related duties as required Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:30am to 4:00pm Recruitment & Relocation Incentives: Not Authorized Critical Skills Incentive (CSI): Not Approved
