The Veterans Service Center Manager (VSCM) is responsible for providing Veterans, their dependents and survivors with information regarding their rights to benefits under laws and regulations administered by VA and other agencies. The VSCM provides leadership and direction to VSC personnel and coordinates activities with other divisions in the Regional Office.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to: Approves written responses to Congressional, White House, and other special inquiries concerning VA benefits. Directs staffing, placement, assignment, and training of division personnel to manage division workflow/productivity. Directs program activities for the delivery of VA benefit programs for Veterans, their dependents, and beneficiaries. Exercises formal authority for the full range of division's personnel actions. Ensures proficient resource utilization and quality of work performed and services rendered; writes/establishes policies and procedures within division. Maintains the highest technical and professional authority to make final decisions in the types of claims considered most difficult or critical which commit the Federal Government to unusual liability. Performs other duties as assigned. Promotion Potential: This position is being selected at the full performance level. Work Schedule: Full time, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The selectee is required to report to the official duty station each scheduled workday. Telework may be approved only on a case-by-case basis with supervisory approval. PCS covers the relocation of a household for government convenience when transferring between duty stations.
