This position is located with the Accountable Property & Support Services (APSS) Division of the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (OCAO), Mission Support. This position supports FEMA HQ property management programs. The incumbent serves as the Branch Chief, Personal Property. You will work directing the work of subordinate personnel in the accomplishment of HQ operational support services and the management of the personal property program.
What will I do in this position if hired? The ideal candidate is experienced in working across organizations to reach compliance with property management requirements. The incumbent has familiarity with an asset management system of record, preferably the Sunflower Asset Management System. Being knowledgeable in personal property management policies and procedures.
Typical assignments include: Supervising property officers, assigning work, reviewing performance, and managing custodial officers from HQ organizations.
Reviewing and understanding department and agency policies and procedures necessary to ensure accurate accountability of personal property assets within a system of record, such as SAMS; Ensuring the accountability for agency accountable and personal property in a system of record; Providing guidance, assistance, and training to HQ personal property stakeholders; Completing required property officer designations and inventory certifications.
Overseeing HQ annual inventory planning, execution, and submission. What else do I need to know? Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
