Job Summary

As an Assistant Director in the Administrative and Internal Law Unit, you will assist the Director of Administrative and Internal Law by providing managerial and supervisory direction to a team of attorneys, government information specialists, and legal technicians. Chief Counsel's Office Washington, D.C.

Major Duties

As an Assistant Director, Administrative and Internal Law Unit, you will: Provide advice and guidance to direct reports and review work for legal compliance and accuracy. Supervise attorneys that provide advice and counsel on internal and general law including information law (FOIA, Privacy Act), personnel law, procurement, fiscal law and ethics. Make presentations and attend meetings as appropriate; when necessary, and personally handle controversial, sensitive or precedent setting matters. Develop short- and long-term plans and establish priorities for the organization. Work with the Administrative and Internal Law Director to assign and supervise work performed by assigned staff. Supervise and manage professional staff of attorneys and support employees and coordinate and prioritize legal work with client offices. Assist in the acquisition of staff through effective workforce planning.

Education

You must have graduated with a J.D. or an LL.M. degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
