Key Responsibilities

The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

The incumbent serves as an expert analyst responsible for developing and/or interpreting guidance on program planning, execution, and evaluation for the compliance, accounts management and/or taxpayer education and communication functions. The employee plans, analyzes, determines cost/benefit relationships, and coordinates a variety of functions, operations, and teams.

Independently studies problems facing operating unit functions or those of particular concern within the organization assigned. This may require coordinating input from activities outside the division and identifying new methods of performing work. This requires the incumbent to demonstrate analytical, technical, and process analysis skills. Analyzes assigned program areas to discern trends in program delivery.

Consolidates report data to measure the effectiveness in meeting baselines or the degree to which program plans and achievements support strategic initiatives. Provides technical advice and staff assistance to executives, field managers, and employees in the assigned program area. Develops and prepares operating guidelines, instructions, and other material pertaining to assigned program areas.

Requirements & Education

A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to Department of Education Accreditation page. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements.

You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
