Job Summary
This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in the Chief Technology Office (JZ) organization in the Chief Information Office (J). The Technology Policy Specialist position will serve as an IT Policy and Standards Specialist supporting Information Technology planning and implementation governance to ensure delivery of strategy and mission objectives while complying with federal laws and cybersecurity requirements and maintaining a responsible risk posture.
Key Responsibilities
As a Technology Policy Specialist, you will: Act as an analyst and advisor supporting senior OCTO leadership in translating technology paradigms and mandates into clear, implementable, and enforceable technical policies and standards. Work in conjunction with the OCTO to develop, review, and maintain the department's technical policies, guidelines, and standards.
Support Information Technology planning and implementation governance to ensure delivery of strategy and mission objectives while complying with federal laws and cybersecurity requirements and maintaining a responsible risk posture. Collaborate with cybersecurity, operational security, and risk-management authorities to compile and refine guidelines and technical reference materials.
Recommend changes in BPA basic policy issuances and implementing instructions covering established techniques, practices, and methods based on analysis of very general national and Department of Energy (DOE) policy directives and objectives. Serve as an analyst and advisor to the Supervisor on Information Technology/ Operational Technology (IT/OT) governance, planning, and standards for the BPA's general business activities.
