The primary purpose of this position is: to perform technical work for the planning, purchase, control, utilization and maintenance of radios (i.e., Land Mobile Radios , tactical radios), and specialized communications systems. Serves as the Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Program Manager as well as the program manager for other radio and specialized communications equipment. Serves as frequency manager, regulating and coordinating Radio Frequency Authorizations (RFA). Administers the LMR, tactical radio and assigned cryptographic equipment Communications Security (COMSEC) program and serves as a COMSEC account custodian. Administers contracts for preventative maintenance.
Maintains statistical data to monitor contractor performance and budgetary requirements. Provides technical support, control and "first look" maintenance for all base Land Mobile Radios (LMR) and other related telecommunications equipment (ie, cryptograph).
