Job Summary

The Auto Hobby shop provides the bays and equipment you need to get your vehicle back on track. Helping our dedicated military members and their families by providing guidance and assistance to fixing their automotive needs. Incumbent must be 18+ years of age. APPLICATIONS WILL BE PULLED FRIDAYS AT 8:00AM UNTIL POSITION IS FILLED.

Major Duties

Issues, receives and schedules use of equipment, tools and repair/paint stalls for patrons. Uses chit or other parts assignment system for accountability of assigned tools. Determines type of repair job involved and suggests a variety of tools needed to accomplish the repair. Provides instructions to customers on cleaning processes, soiled rag disposal, sweeping and cleanup of repair or pit stall and removal of excess automotive parts. Ensures tools turned-in are clean, assesses breakage or damage if any; charging customer for tools according to prescribed price listing. Operates cash register and accounts for cash using established procedures. Maintains inventory control records of items issued, conducts minor maintenance and repair of tools and equipment. Accounts for condition, inspects tools upon return, bins, stores or replaces item with new. Arranges tools and parts as stock is replenished or added. Develops display pegboards, cleans and grinds tools requiring sharp edges. Maintains a clean and orderly work area at all times. May be required to act as the primary or alternate equipment custodian. Performs other related duties as assigned. Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
