The incumbent reports to the Designated Learning Officer (DLO) and coordinates the efficient implementation and operation of patient health education programs in the Veterans Learning Center. In executing this role, it is necessary to cross Department of Veterans Affairs, Medical Center, intra-/inter-departmental lines of authority.
The Training/Education Technician is responsible for identifying, implementing, and assessing effective instructional design, methods and educational technologies for educational programming to support the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center (Atlanta VAMC) programs.
Duties include actively participating as a part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and develop medical education curriculum and evaluations to support multiple clinical service lines and medical service support staff. Additional duties include but are not limited to: Provide instructional design and promote visual pedagogies for effective online education programs.
Identify and develop shared curriculum across medical and allied health programs; coordinate medical education programming. Develop content and quality oversight to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements for all electronic learning programs/systems including organization, application, analysis, synthesis, evaluation, and program development.
Provide guidance and advice on program policies and procedures, participate in performance improvement activities, and conduct and act as a resource for Service Line and Service specific program needs. Provide oversight of the library program, coordinate training and travel funding, and VHA sponsored scholarship programs.
Oversees the Atlanta VAMC Education Service Line Satellite office at the (Fort McPherson or Atlanta) CBOC, and acts as Education Service Line liaison to Trinka Davis Veterans Village (Carrolton, Georgia), Oakwood CBOC, Newnan CBOC and Stockbridge CBOC. Provides technical support/coordination for educational classes and trains others. Provides guidance related to videotaping and/or copying, and distributing electronic media.
Serves as the TMS direct Education Service Line liaison. Serves as the Administrator for the Class Management System (CMS) and Personal Development Plan (PDP) applications. Collaborates with Atlanta VAMC TMS Domain Manager (s), project teams, and other stakeholders throughout the life cycle of e-learning TMS development.
Uses Microsoft software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Office, Database, publisher, etc,.) Has knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issues or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations and adapting techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of program effectiveness and/or organizational productivity. Work Schedule: Monday thru Friday, 07:30a.m. to 4:00p.m.
