To collaborate scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation; modification of processes, evaluation and ongoing operational flow of the Special Mode of Transportation and Beneficial Travel Section. Employee will independently manage the Medical Center's Beneficial Travel Program. This will include correctly determining eligibility for the program, and processing requests.
Major duties include but are not limited to: The incumbent collaborates in a team-oriented, customer-driven, professional environment to develop new models of care that emphasize prevention, improve access and coordination of care; educate and empower patients and their families; enhance the customer experience with positive human, Telephonic and other Telecommunication interactions and therapeutic alliances; and promote the coordination, continuity, facilitation and integration of care.

- General Duties - Schedule and Coordinate with all vendors for Special Mode Transportation daily while insuring both patient and vendor are aware of times/dates to facilitate their care - Customer care in accordance with VA policy and ICARE program - Prepare documentation to schedule and reserve tickets for eligible patients requiring airline transportation, E.G.
Fixed wing, Life Flight or Commercial Airplane on short- and long-term notice to insure facilitation of veteran care at other facilities in a long-range setting. Utilizes and maintains control of internal filing system for beneficial travel/patient funds in accordance with National VA and Fiscal regulations.
The incumbent works with the VTS Supervisory Mobility Manager for transportation workload forecasting, scheduling design, procedure development, and quality improvement implementation, modification of processes, evaluation, and ongoing operational flow of the Veteran Transportation Services program. The coordination of transportation function is multifaceted and diverse.
The three major areas of responsibility are: (1) Scheduling, Data Collection, & Tracking Support; (2) Consult Management responsibilities; (3) Program Support responsibilities. The incumbent must have knowledge of clinical services, related software, and programs as they relate to clinical computing and office automation. Coordinates the day-to-day operation of VTS program flow, processes, and functions.
Plans and provides support services in the following types of program areas: electronic records management; driver scheduling setup & management; space utilization services. Provides advice to operating managers and supervisors on how provided services assist in accomplishing their missions and programs. Performs other related duties as assigned.
