Job Summary

This position is located in Washington, District of Columbia

Key Responsibilities

The primary purpose of this position is to provide expert technical advice to the Chair, members of the Board, and staff of the U.S. Access Board with respect to national policies relating to issues of accessibility, specifically accessibility to public transportation.

As a TRANSPORTATION SYSTEMS ENGINEER, you will: Develop accessibility standards for air, water, and surface transportation systems; Draft proposed rules and evaluate public comments for revisions; Advise committees, agencies, engineers, and industry representatives on transportation accessibility; Provide training, technical assistance, and research supporting future policies and regulations; Review transportation system designs and recommend solution to accessibility barriers

This position requires specific coursework and/or a degree to meet the basic education requirement.
