Job Summary

The Voluntary Services Officer is responsible for planning and leading all philanthropic activities and programs within widely dispersed locations across the healthcare system, VA Administrations and State Veterans Homes. The incumbent is responsible for the proactive and agile utilization, to include the commitment and distribution of community resources in support of organizational goals, objectives and strategic priorities.

Key Responsibilities

Major Duties: Develops voluntary service program goals and objectives; operates, evaluates and coordinates voluntary service program. Manages General Post Fund and other financial accounts. Recruitment, selection, placement and orientation of volunteer resources. Supervises Voluntary Service staff, plans and assigns work, evaluates performance. Ensures compliance with Joint Commission requirements for Voluntary Service program.

Maintains statistical records and reports for such tracking as donations, volunteer hours served, etc. Assess the needs of various service to determine ability to utilize volunteers; develops volunteer areas of service. Develops strategies that meet the challenges and substantial changes facing the medical facility such as dwindling resources. Plans and presides over Voluntary Service Committee. Completes Annual Joint Reviews. Oral and written communication skills.
