This Writer Editor position is located in the Transportation Security Operations Center (TSOC), Operations Planning & Coordination Division (OPCD), Federal Air Marshal Service (FAMS), Law Enforcement (LE), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Duties include, but are not limited to: Provides professional writing and editing that conveys complex information about Transportation Security Administration's Mission. Demonstrates proficiency in various word processing and editing software to perform research, and develop authoritative information which reflect in materials and projects covering topics pertaining to the TSA Mission, functions, goals, programs, priorities, activities, accomplishments and interactions with other TSA and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) components as well as other Federal agencies requiring a response. Manages the content of periodicals, websites and other formats from initial concept to final production, selects content themes and writing original materials for publications. Prepares written products for senior leadership and ensures all written materials meet established standards for appearance and content (e.g., grammar, metrics, category, significant, good news section). Develops networks and builds alliances, collaborates across boundaries, and finds common ground with a wide range of internal stakeholders and subject matter experts. Identifies and resolves challenging correspondence issues related and various methods to provide written communication to Transportation Security Operations Center (TSOC) personnel. Serves as the subject matter expert and consultant on various inter-agency teams addressing how to best write and edit a wide range of highly complex data analytics that involve mission critical subject matter of a sensitive nature. Develops and communicates writing standards to a diverse TSOC workforce in order to maintain consistent writing style and quality across a variety of routine and unique products.
