Job Summary

Join our team as an X-Ray Technologist (Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist) and provide high-quality diagnostic imaging that supports physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. We are seeking skilled, compassionate professionals dedicated to patient care, safety, and excellence in radiologic services. A REAL ID will be required beginning May 7, 2025, in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Major Duties

Performs routine to complex diagnostic radiographic examinations using fixed and portable imaging equipment. Positions patients and selects or adjusts technical factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Provides patient care and ensures radiation safety by explaining procedures, screening patients, and monitoring patient condition during exams. Operates, troubleshoots, and maintains radiographic equipment while identifying and reporting equipment malfunctions. Maintains accurate radiology records and participates in infection control, quality assurance, and radiology operations activities. On-call hours or standby duty may be required. Position may be subject to rotating shifts: days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. IHS Selectees that will work in an IHS health care facility may be subject to Employee Health Policies related to Measles and Rubella, and seasonal influenza immunizations. Vaccine exemption requests may be available according to the National and/or Service Unit guidance. This is a competitive vacancy announcement advertised under Direct Hire Authority.
